Your computer and
peripherals: only try to bring these if you own them in the first place...
Base unit with installed Network Card (see section below)
Monitor
Keyboard
Mouse
Joystick
Headphones (NOTE: No speakers are permitted at MMlan events)
Mains adaptor (Preferably with surge protection) - enough
for your PC & monitor
Game CD's
System CD's (in
case something dreadful happens and you need to reformat/reinstall)
Bedding: we advise that you have a single
sized camp bed, inflatable mattress or roll mat along with a sleeping bag and a
pillow.
Munchies: an absolute must - whilst pizza can be ordered,
what do you do when you just want a quick can of something (non-alcoholic; it's
a licenced venue)? The best thing to do is invest heavily in the various items
that are on special offer in the run up (or on the journey to) the event,
ensuring that you can leave your seat even less!
Under 16s Must
request directly to us (email link) for access to the event.
Network Cards
If you don't already have a network card, you will need to purchase one.
You can do this in all good computer stores, and the price depends both on the
type and quality of the card. There are two types that are compatible with our
networks (and virtually all other LAN parties organised).
We recommend that you
purchase a 100Base-TX (100Mbps) network card, since you get ten-times the
maximum speed for about 10% extra cost - however 10Base-T (10Mbps) network
cards are still supported (provided they use RJ45 (telephone-style) connectors
and not BNC (TV-style) connectors). |
