A parting of ways
| MM2/mm •'s are moving away from MM and setting up under their own banner. See here for the full details: http://www.mmclan.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=992 [Submitted by Farad] Posted by Farad on Thursday 10 September 2009 - 23:45:55 | Add/Read Comments: 18 |
Only a few days to go..
After all the waiting it's now less than a week to MMLan10. There's plenty of chatter on the forums. Most of the posts include comments on Lan food (we play games too you know!) but there's also some useful info if you're coming including: the Seating Plan and Odd Bits Look forward to seeing you all soon [Submitted by Farad]
Server News.
The public TF2 server ( 85.234.138.183:27019 540Hosting.com - [MM] TF2 <1> mmclan.co.uk - The Banana Republic ) has had a bit of an overhaul to make it a little more inviting. Thanks to Farad's tireless work it now has HLstatsX up and running. Full server stats can be found here and player rankings are here. The map rotation has had a bit of a tweak too with the likes of Dustbowl, Goldrush and Badwater added. This is a work in progress so there could be more tweaks soon to keep things fresh. We hope these changes bring some of the fun back to server 1. Once again a big thank you to Farad for sprucing the server up for us all! [Submitted by CaptainGinger]
MMLan10
| It's still a few weeks off yet but we're already starting to gear up for MMLan10. Due to popular demand we've booked the Monday this time to give us a long weekend of gaming goodness. Dates: 14th-17th August Location: Rugby Club in Rugby. Signups open Sunday 28th June at 8pm Expect the usual mix of PCs, consoles, BBQ, mini tournaments and most importantly, lots of lovely people. | MMLan9 was goood |
An enormous thank you to everyone who came to MMLan9 and made it so enjoyable. It's a cliché but the people really do make em. We've always said every Lan is a little bit different and this one was no exception. The net connection decided to die on the Friday morning resulting in a crash course in 3G phones, dongles and connection sharing. Fortunately it didn't spoil the fun - proof you can (just) live without net access for 24 hours!! The gaming flavour of the weekend was a TF2 tourney and mass games of GRID. Guitar Hero Metallica provided the sound track and the BBQ set a new record - we used an entire bag of healthy lettuce!! We more than made up for this though with our order for 22 pizzas on Friday night . Weather all weekend was lovely bright sunshine prompting a mass game of extreme rounders - like normal rounders only, more dangerous, less serious and with only a handful of people who know the rules . And yes, it was outside away from the computers with a real ball, real bat and hard injury inducing ground. Go visit the Forums for more of what went on and some photos. [Submitted by Farad]
Just 24 inch... I mean hours to MMLAN 9!
Yes, it's just a scant 24 hours until MMLAN 9 is open for business so it's time to head on over to the forums to get all the latest info. There are threads on everything you need to know, from important last minute info and seating plans to half price pizza deals. We're looking forward to meeting everyone in person and making some new friends as well as catching up with some old ones. Just about everything is ready now and even the weather forecast is looking good so we'll see you all on Friday! :) The MMLAN team. [Submitted by CaptainGinger]
[MM] TF2 News.
First of all welcome back to Penance (AKA Jake) who has joined [MM¹] again and fills out a soldier slot in our first team. [MM¹] are still recruiting though and you're encouraged to contact BorisTrat if you would like to join. Due to some of our casual players not being around as much lately and our main squad wanting to move things forward a bit we now have a couple of vacancies in our second squad [MM²]. It's fair to say we've struggled a little recently but we're looking to improve and strengthen our team so we can bounce back in the coming games. We're ideally after a couple of recruits who would want to play perhaps two matches a night 3 or 4 nights a week and become part of our friendly and hopefully improving team. We're after a decent Soldier at least and possibly either a Scout or Medic too. If you think you'd be interested then contact either myself or Squeak via Steam friends or on IRC. #mmclan on Quakenet :) [Submitted by CaptainGinger]
Recruiting.
| Due to various work and home commitments with it's current roster [MM¹] have a vacancy for someone who can play Soldier/Demoman. [MM¹] Are the more competitive arm of the Malevolent Monkees and they currently play in the Wireplay 6v6 league. They have members from several European countries as well as good old Blighty so any recruit would need to be able to speak reasonable English as well as play a mean Solly/Demo. If you think you'd like to be a part of our friendly and competitive clan and perhaps even the wider [MM] community please contact either Boris T Rat or Hyperg on IRC or via Steam. #mmclan on Quakenet Steam links >> Boris T Rat and hyperg . | MMlan mini update. |
As you can see below thanks to Blackreign's tireless work to continually improve the MMLan's we have expanded to a maximum of 40 players. Thanks BR! :) What everyone needs to know though is that we are almost sold out already! Yep, with three more weeks to go before we all get the chance to frag each other senseless and get cups of tea made for us by Squeak there are but a couple of spaces left. So if you're sitting on the fence don't think about it too long or you may end up missing out! Also if you are signed up great but don't forget its payment that confirms your spot. With the Lan getting closer thoughts have also turned too what games people are bringing to play and what maps they would like on the TF2 servers. So far there's a healthy interest in Valves selection of first person shooters with some racing and RTS games getting a mention to. Why not drop in to the forum and let people know what games you are bringing. :) Once you're signed up and you know what games you are bringing you might as well double check what else you need to bring on this page right here . Farad really does think of everything. :) [Submitted by CaptainGinger]
MMlan 9 now 40 players!
